Says Jan: "Since I was a young teenager I have been crazy about the music of Joni Mitchell; she is right at the top of my list of favorite artists. In 1992 I was playing piano in the restaurant at the Sheraton Hotel at Heathrow, London. The high class restaurant was often frequented by celebrities flying in and out of London. One evening, as I played, I could see, in the distance, at the entrance to the restaurant, a slender woman with long blonde hair. She was leaning back against a pillar, watching and appearing to be listening to my music. I shivered from head to toe as I had a strong feeling that this might be Joni Mitchell herself. I knew that she was in London at that time, presenting some of her paintings at an art gallery in the city and it was highly possible that she could be at the hotel on her way back home to the States. I always put my heart and soul into my playing and singing and hoped that it touched her. The thought that perhaps, for a few short moments, my path in life had crossed with hers blew my mind! I simply have to write a song about it and it's currently in process - watch this space!
